“The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.”

Ancora Group Foundation

The Foundation represents Ancora’s corporate social responsibility arm and exists mainly to provide help or resources to people and organisations in need.

Our aim is to enrich the lives of people by improving society and contributing in a meaningful and sustainable way to the communities in which they live.

We provide financial support and knowledge to individuals and SMME’s in the retail environment, in order to promote employee retention, job creation and ultimately to enable people to remain productive and contributing members of society.

We offer an Internship Programme that is geared to developing leading retail knowledge and expertise for the youth. The programme selects and retains the most talented individuals, from growing them in-house to releasing them into the retail property industry. We are continuously creating new platforms in business so that they can have a voice and positively impact the future of retail and further.

We have a passion for the youth of South Africa, and this is why we prioritise employing recent graduates and mentoring, training and developing the future leaders in our industry. Our customised internship programme ensures roles are rewarding and constructive, and geared to develop individual skills, providing interns with thorough knowledge of the retail property environment.

We aim to incorporate the principles of our Sustainability Development Goal (10) by breaking the cycles of inequality and providing equitable and progressive employment to the youth, as well as previously disadvantaged individuals from designated groups.

Though thrilling, our plans as a retail specialist and development company are also challenging. Therefore, our aim is to recruit and retain only the best people – through support, development and expansion of their skill sets. The goal is to either retain or release interns into the market; hand-picking opportunities for each individual to allow them to utilise and further develop their skills, and make a positive contribution to the industry.

Our customised internship programme ensures roles are rewarding and constructive, and geared to develop individual skills, providing interns with thorough knowledge of the retail leasing business.

We are selective about the individuals we invest in. We offer support throughout the programme, and endeavour to provide meaningful integration into our operations team to ensure interns have the tools to succeed with Finlay.
